The world’s novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) deaths exceed 100,000, the worldometers.info website reported early today.

At 1:15 a.m. today (Macau time), the number of COVID-19 deaths stood at 100,440 while the number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases amounted to 1.66 million. Macau has 45 confirmed COVID-19 cases, without any deaths. Ten of the patients have been discharged from hospital. Macau confirmed its first COVID-19 case on January 22. All but three of the cases have been classified by the Health Bureau (SSM) as imported, most of them local students who returned from overseas.
