BNU donates 10.6 million patacas to University of Macau

Local Portuguese lender BNU has committed a donation of 10.65 million patacas to establish an endowment fund at the University of Macau Development Foundation (UMDF) with the aim of supporting both teaching and academic research of a chair professor at the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Macau.

Local Portuguese lender BNU has committed a donation of 10.65 million patacas to establish an endowment fund at the University of Macau Development Foundation (UMDF) with the aim of supporting both teaching and academic research of a chair professor at the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of the University of Macau (UM).

The bank announced the donation in a statement earlier this week.

According to the statement, “In appreciation of this generous contribution, the FBA has created a chair professorship in honour of BNU,” adding that “it is the first named chair professorship at the university”.

The statement said that Prof. Jacky So Yuk-chow, dean of the FBA and director of UM’s Asia-Pacific Academy of Economics and Management (APAEM), has been appointed the BNU Chair Professor of Finance.”

According to the statement, “in the future, Prof. So will carry this designated title on all official occasions related to the university as well as in academic publications”.
