At a Hong Kong press conference this afternoon, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor announced that starting this Wednesday (March 25), all persons entering from the mainland, Macau and Taiwan – including Hong Kong residents and non-Hong Kong residents – will undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days.
All non-Hong Kong residents are prohibited from entering by air. Transit services at the Hong Kong International Airport will also be suspended.
Asked by a member of the press to clarify regarding Macau residents coming from overseas, Lam clarified that Hong Kong will maintain its arrangements with the Macau government so long as inbound Macau residents have registered beforehand (https://aeees.dses.gov.mo/HKMAC/) with Macau government and will be taking the chartered bus arranged by the Macau Tourism Crisis Management Office.
