The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced on Sunday that a 26-year-old non-resident female from South Korea had been diagnosed with COVID-19.
This is the 11th case in Macau since January 22. Macau has not registered any new cases since February 4. Macau previously registered 10 cases, with all patients having been released from the hospital since.
The patient, a flight attendant from Air Macau, arrived in Hong Kong on Friday after visiting Porto, in Portugal with her boyfriend in late January.
She was on the same flight as 25 Macau students that returned from Portugal.
On Saturday, she arrived Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau bridge and on the same day, she started showing cough and fever symptoms and decided to go to the Conde São Januário Hospital.
After being subjected to the nucleic acid test, she was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was hospitalised in the isolation ward.
A statement from the health authorities said her situation is “normal”.
Her boyfriend, a Portuguese national, is considered a case of close contact and is under investigation.
The Coordination Center calls on all passengers who have travelled on the flight EK380 (from Dubai to Hong Kong) to contact the Coordination Center by calling 2870 0800 for follow-up.
During the flight she was occupying seat 31J.
