A 30-year-old man was arrested on Monday in Taipa for luring underage children to take pornographic videos or photos of themselves and send them to him.
The government has decided that children aged below three will now be allowed to attend their kindergarten classes from 21 September “in response to their parents’ demand”.
Ho Kuai Seng, a member of the Central District Community Service Consultative Council, said on Wednesday he deplored the government’s belated announcement about some of the back-to-school arrangements, adding that it caused parents and pupils unnecessary stress.
Children enrolled in kindergartens can only attend their classes in the new school year – which will start next month – from the age of three, as it is not suitable for those aged below three to wear a facemask.
The Macao government will roll out a new measure for Macao cross-border pupils who undergo their nucleic acid tests (NATs) in designated medical institutions in Zhuhai.
The Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) said in a statement yesterday that it expects Macao’s schools to have 85,014 pupils when the new school year 2020/21 starts next month, a 2.8 per cent increase from the 82,683 pupils in the previous school year.
Secondary schools, primary schools and kindergartens will return to in-class teaching at the beginning of September.
