Four groups of local residents can now choose to undergo their nucleic acid tests at the public hospital under the local government’s current nucleic acid testing (NAT) scheme.
The government plans to amend its guidelines as to what circumstances residents should wear a facemask.
Those entering Macau from Zhuhai urged to give up the idea of being taken to the local government’s nucleic acid testing station at the Taipa Ferry Terminal in Pac On for a COVID-19 test by not obtaining a valid nucleic acid test certificate in advance in the mainland prior to their arrival here.
Alvis Lo Iek Long, a clinical director of the public Conde S. Januário Hospital Centre, said that the local government will continue its fight against the COVID-19 threat “as a matter of routine”, coinciding with the gradual restoration of normality in the community with the city’s COVID-19 spread risk “under control”.
The government “provisionally” plans that the still being developed local version of the mainland’s health code system will become an extension of the Macau Health Bureau’s (SSM) digital health declaration system.
The results of the nucleic acid tests may be included in the electronic health declaration to speed up border crossings, “with different colours for each situation”.
Only 3 of 12 ‘quarantine hotels’ still in operation, while Jai Alai will return to its hospitality role.
Local residents who had regularly travelled to Hong Kong for medical treatment urged to consider receiving the corresponding treatment in Macau during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
