MGM has joined hands with two local high-tech enterprises to carry out smart upgrades at its properties, in keeping with the government’s drive to develop Macao into a smart city.

The digital enhancements are a key part of improving MGM’s hotel and marketing operations, meeting the demand for technologies among today’s travellers. The two partnerships, the company said, exemplify a deepened “Tourism + Tech” synergy, through which MGM can offer guests an enhanced service, and facilitate smart hotel development in Macao and the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

MGM and Pachira Enterprises inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement earlier in December. The collaboration will see a set of technological upgrades at MGM like an automated room reservation service utilising artificial intelligence (AI)-powered voice agents, a smart dial-in and dial-out system, and smart marketing.

Pachira Times (Zhuhaihengqin) Information Technology, the parent company of Pachira, is an AI-orientated tech company in the mainland that specialises in tech solutions like voice data analysis and intelligent voice recognition, with over 100 patents and software copyrights.

MGM aims to draw on technologies to elevate its guest experience, meet the needs of tech-savvy tourists and enable staff to better engage with our guests.

MGM and DigitalBay, an emerging digital marketing SME founded by a young entrepreneur in Macao tapping innovative approaches, have entered into a partnership to jointly explore growth opportunities.

The company said that under the collaboration, the “MGM Room Service Mini Programme” will be integrated with DigitalBay’s latest WeChat community marketing SaaS product “Interactive Marketing Cloud”.
