The average price of residential units decreased by 4.2 per cent quarter-to-quarter to 72,955 patacas per square metre of usable area in the first quarter, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced on Tuesday.

The average price of pre-sale residential units dropped by 8.9 per cent to 94,165 patacas per square metre.

The average price of existing residential units fell by 1.7 per cent quarter-to-quarter to 69,825 patacas per square metre.

A total of 1,928 building units and parking spaces changed ownership in the first quarter, down by 22.3 per cent quarter-to-quarter. The units’ value as per stamp duty records dropped 23.5 per cent to 8.45 billion patacas from the previous quarter.

The purchase and sale of residential units totalled 1,215 at 5.55 billion patacas, down by 16.8 per cent and 20.6 per cent respectively.
