According to data from the Financial Services Bureau (DSF), Macau made MOP 7.3 billion (US$907.3 million) from gaming taxes in January.

The amount represents an increase of 7.7 percent year-on-year, compared to the same month in 2016, and represents 80.6 percent of total revenue from the government that month.

In January, the gaming industry saw MOP 19.3 billion in gross gaming revenue, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

While the month marked the sixth consecutive monthly increase in gross gaming revenue, clocking an increase of 3.1 percent year-on-year, the results missed consensus estimates due mainly to a slowdown ahead of Chinese New Year.
