Each vehicle in the city now has just 1.85 kilometres of road to itself, as Macao’s motoring mania shows no sign of abating.
Traffic accidents
The Public Security Police (PSP) recorded 10,194 traffic accidents last year, a drop of 25.5% from 2019.
Macau’s traffic accidents decreased by 6.5 percent to 13,764 last year, resulting in 4,390 casualties including 10 fatalities, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) has announced.
There were two major traffic accidents on Friday, one where a woman riding a scooter died after crashing with a taxi on Friendship Bridge, and the other in which 10 passengers were injured after two buses collided in the Areia Preta area.
