The government says it is putting plans for its affordable housing project on hold, due to lacklustre demand.
Sandwich class housing
Most of the units have two bedrooms, but prices for the newly built flats will not be disclosed until the fiercely competitive selection process has started.
The government says it’s still too early to talk price-points for the new initiative, which will offer decently-sized flats to people ‘sandwiched’ between currently available subsidised housing and the private sector.
But no clues have been given as to the prices of the units, which are designed to help eligible permanent residents get on the property ladder.
