A building is now classified as a Yellow Code Zone if one household has been diagnosed with Covid-19, while buildings with at least two households diagnosed with the virus will now be classified as Red Code Zones.
Macao Covid-19
Citywide mass-testing unlikely in future; Red Code Zones to be enforced if two or more households test positive for Covid-19; big events can go ahead if precautions followed.
City also records two new cases related to this week’s cabbie cluster: one dined in Tong Kei, another in Sang Kei Seafood Restaurant. Health authorities say new cases’ risks of community transmission remain low.
Newest cases: cabbie’s wife, neighbour, wife of man who ate in same restaurant as cabbie, and fellow diner; two other cases are mainland Chinese worker and his wife who works at Wynn Palace.
‘Cabbie Cluster’ spreads to woman who worked part-time at restaurant and Tong Nam Kindergarten, whose staff and pupils are now quarantined.
Initially implemented for one week starting 16 November, measure was extended until today, and re-extended due to current Covid-19 situation; Macao International Marathon still on schedule.
Under-threes exempt; those who have not left the city but have undertaken a NAT on the same day are not required to do RAT on that day.
Seventeen-year-old Macao resident, previously listed as core close contact, tested negative twice yesterday before testing positive for Covid-19 today.
First test must be done today or tomorrow, second on 1 December, and third on 3 December; only infants and toddlers aged under three are exempt.
