The Macao Customs Service said in a statement last night that its officers caught two local parallel traders earlier this week who were using a car parked in a public car park as a goods collection point with the intention of smuggling goods to Zhuhai on foot.

Fourteen people were caught on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in a parallel trading racket run by two shops in the Barrier Gate area where law enforcement officers seized more than 1,500 goods such as food, alcohol, medicine, beauty and cosmetic products worth about MOP 3.12 million.
A haul of about 3,000 items worth about MOP 3.8 million, such as second-hand laptops and cosmetic products, were seized in Macao and Zhuhai on Tuesday after the two cities’ law enforcement agencies jointly busted an illegal parallel trading racket.
