The head of a local recycling operation adds that residents have become more environmentally aware and would probably be willing to pay for a home recycling service.

Four local associations have jointly asked the government to protect the marine environment, improve the city’s sewage treatment plant, impose a speed limit on ferries and investigate the cause of deaths of the cetaceans recently washed ashore on the city’s coastline.
Three local environmental advocacy groups – the Association of Synergy of Macau, Green Future and Macau Less Plastic Lifestyle – co-launched a map Monday that shows the locations of water fountains around the city, with the aim of encouraging the public to get their potable water from bubblers instead of buying bottled water.
