Kenyan athletes dominated Macau men´s marathon and half marathon

Kenyan Felix Kiptoo Kirwa won the 36th men´s Macao International Marathon marathon with 2:10:01 followed by his compatriots Joseph Kyengo Munywoki (2:13:18) and Henry Sang (2:13:48) today.

Kenyan Felix Kiptoo Kirwa won the 36th men´s Macao International Marathon marathon with 2:10:01 followed by his compatriots Joseph Kyengo Munywoki (2:13:18) and Henry Sang (2:13:48) today.
Kenyan athletes also won the marathon in 2016, 2014 and 2013. Vitaly Shafar from Ukraine won 2015 marathon.
The women marathon was won by Eunice Jepkirui Kirwa from Bahrain with 2:29:12. Shafar Oleksandra from Ukraine was second (2:33:08) and Rodah Jepkorir Tanui was third (2:33:41).
Last year the women´s marathon was won by Ji Hyang Kin from Korea.
The men´s half marathon was won by three Kenyan athletes. Josphat Menjo was first with 1:04:49 followed by Kibiwot Samwel (1:04:49) and Joseph Ngare (1:05:20).
The women´s half marathon was won by Portuguese Doroteia Alves Peixoto with 1:16:00 followed by Kenyan athletes Edinah Jeruto Koech ( 1:16:31) and Margaret Njuguna (1:18.20).
Chong Ip Chan was first in the men´s Macau athletes category with 2:38:28: followed by Chak In Lam and Kai Un Chan.
Long Hoi won the Macau´s women marathon with 2:55:46 followed by Mei Na Ieong and Keng Heong Lao.
Around 12,000 people took part in the marathon.
