Typhoon Signal No. 3 was hoisted at 6 am, and is likely to remain in effect this morning, the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau has announced.

Local winds are expected to strengthen.

At 6 am Typhoon Kompasu was located about 720 kilometres southeast of Macao and moving toward Hainan Island.

As the winds over the bridges are expected to be strong and gusty, drivers are advised to pay attention to traffic safety. Motorcyclists that need to travel between Macao Peninsula and Taipa Island should use the motorcycle lane on Sai Van Bridge.
