The Macau government announced today that it will temporarily use Treasure Hotel in Taipa island – adjacent to Golden Crown China Hotel – front of the airport terminal, as a quarantine hotel.

According to MGTO, Treasure Hotel is the sixth designated hotel for medical observation for all arrivals except those from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The other five are Metropole Hotel located in downtown Macau, Pousada Marina Infante (Cotai), Regency Art and Golden Crown China (Taipa) and Grand Coloane (Coloane).

The six hotels provide a total of 1,644 rooms.

“Treasure Hotel is a licensed hotel yet to open, with 400 rooms to be made available for the government’s usage. The hotel will provide cleaning, security and catering services. In addition, the government has coordinated with different tour guide associations to arrange for tour guides and association personnel to provide related reception services,” said a statement from MGTO.

Today, the MGTO representative in the daily press conference on the virus situation said that until the end of the month, around 800 Macau residents will arrive from high contaminated areas with COVID-19.
