Taipa elevated walkway project to start in Q4

The Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) said in a statement Tuesday that it expects the construction of an elevated walkway along a major avenue in the city centre of Taipa to get off the ground in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) said in a statement Tuesday that it expects the construction of an elevated walkway along a major avenue in the city centre of Taipa to get off the ground in the fourth quarter of this year.

The bureau unsealed bids submitted by 18 construction companies for the construction of the project yesterday. All bids were accepted.

According to the statement, the construction costs of the project proposed by the bids range from 303.68 million patacas to 499 million patacas.

According to the statement, the 700-metre elevated walkway will be built along Avenida de Guimarães. It will start from the Light Rail Transit (LRT) station outside Macau Stadium; continue over Rotunda do Estádio and along the avenue before ending in Rotunda Dr. Sun Yat-sen.

According to the statement, stairs, and escalators or lifts, will be set up at every access point along the avenue.

According to the statement, the bureau has set a maximum construction period of 900 days for the 4.5 metre wide elevated walkway.
