The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) has launched a new mobile application today called ‘My Library’ which facilitates in reserving and renewing library items, as well as search through the public library’s catalogue of books. According to the statement released, this is to “encourage residents to use library resources and services, thereby promoting reading habits in the community.”

Residents who log in to the app – available on both the App Store and Google Play – will find various library resources accessible, including the ability to view the status of reserved, loaned and overdue items, as well as see their checkout history. There are also audio-visual materials available for users.

This service will allow residents to use their in-app Electronic Library Card to access self-checkout machines or at reception counters.

Through the ‘Notification Settings’ in the app, residents can receive expiration reminders and overdue notifications on their borrowed items. Additionally, there are also event notifications and library news available in-app.

To learn more, the Macao Public Library can be contacted through their number, 2893 0077 or 2856 7576, during office hours or through their website at http://www.library.gov.mo
