Macau gaming operator MGM said on Thursday that it has become the first company in Macau to provide cleaning services to social enterprises, sheltered workshops, vocational training centres, and treatment and educational centres.

According to an MGM statement received by the Macau Post Daily this afternoon, the Fuhong Society of Macau, Association of Parents of People with Intellectual Disabilities of Macau, Macau Special Olympics and Caritas Macau are covered by the measure.

The statement said that “MGM takes the lead in providing cleaning services to social enterprises to fight the [novel coronavirus disease] epidemic, rallying around the disabled community to weather the storm.”

The statement added that MGM has also given out hand sanitizer and other cleaning supplies to the social enterprises for sustaining a clean environment.

The company has also donated body temperature detectors with facial recognition to Fuhong Society of Macau, according to the statement, “helping them to keep their cost in human resources down as the devices also boast the function of recording attendance,… the first of its kind to be put in service in Macau.”

MGM owns two integrated casino-hotel resorts in Macau, one in Nape and the other in Cotai.
