Judiciary Police (PJ) are investigating after a half-naked male corpse was found floating in the sea opposite Avenida Marginal Flor de Lotus, west of Cotai yesterday.

The body of the Asian man, who was estimated to be in his 30s and around 1.7 metres tall, was clad in black trousers with black socks and white trainers.

Police said his corpse had already started to decompose, and concluded he had died some days previously. No identification documents or suicide notes were found.

Police said Customs Service officers saw the body at 12:10 pm on CCTV. A boat was despatched to the scene to investigate, and the male corpse was then pulled ashore near a hotel pier in Taipa.

The case was listed as “dead body found”. Anyone with information about the case or who knows the identity of the deceased is requested to contact the PJ Investigation Section.
