Typhoon Cempaka put a damper on the Macau ∙ Qingdao Beer Cultural Festival, which shut up shop on Monday but will re-open when the weather allows.

The beer fest, which Wynn had hoped would kick-start the summer holidays, indicated that they hoped to restart this weekend.

The organisers have undertaken to contact ticket holders individually for rescheduling dates or refunds, adding that further arrangements will be posted on the official website.

The beer-fest, celebrating both Macao Beer and Tsingtao, opened last Friday in a marquee outside Wynn Palace in Cotai and was supposed to run until 8 August, The Macau Post Daily reported.
