HK-Macau Bridge checkpoint ready by end of 2017

The company in charge of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge says the Macau checkpoint of the crossing will be completed by the end of this year.

The company in charge of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge says the Macau checkpoint of the crossing will be completed by the end of this year.

According to the English TDM News service, the contractor says it’s confident that the bridge will also be ready before 2018.

The checkpoint for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge will be located on the southern side of the bridge’s artificial island.

The construction work is divided into four main parts, including the customs building, the parking lot and the administration building, Four companies are in charge of the four different parts, including CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Company.

The basement, the underground networks and also the pile foundation work are now under construction.

The state-owned firm says the Macau checkpoint and the bridge will put into operation at the same
time.

“Our target is to finish the construction by the end of 2017, and we are confident about this,” says Zhong Gai Bing, from CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co.
