The wheels on one of the world’s shortest cable car rides – taking just 80 seconds from start to finish – begin turning again today, as the Guia Hill gondola resumes operations.

The Municipal Affairs Bureau said that after suspending operations last September the ride’s main cables’ replacement, cable connections, inspections, adjustments and trials to ensure safe operations, among other work, have all been completed satisfactorily.

A single ticket costs MOP 2, while a return ticket costs MOP 3. Special concessionary return tickets for under-12s and over-65s cost MOP 2.

The aerial gondola lift system opened in 1997. The 80-second ride is reputed to be one of the world’s shortest. Visitors can gain a bird’s-eye view of the Flora Garden below and a panoramic view of the peninsula, The Macau Post Daily reported.
