The Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) has announced that due to the reduction or cancellation of flights to a number of destinations in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic, airmail services to major destinations have been suspended.

According to a statement by the bureau on Saturday, currently only surface mail is available for postal shipments from Macau to Ireland, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.

However, apart from surface mail, Express Mail Service (EMS) deliveries are still available for Japan, South Korea, the US and the UK.

The statement cautioned that some postal shipments could also be affected while in transit in certain countries that have suspended all or some of their postal services.

The statement urged members of the public to access the official website of the local post office: http://www.ctt.gov.mo/ for updated information on the matter.
