State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has promised that China is ready to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Angola.

Wang was speaking with Angolan Foreign Minister Tete António during the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Dakar, Senegal.

Wang said China attaches great importance to bilateral relations and supports Angola in playing a bigger role in international and regional affairs, according to Xinhua.

Noting that the two countries have worked together in the international arena to safeguard each other’s rights and interests, Wang said it has manifested their bilateral friendship, and demonstrated a high level of political mutual trust.

China is ready to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and help Angola achieve faster development, Wang said.

Tete António congratulated China on the successful opening of the conference.

He said that Angola appreciates China’s help in fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic, making important contributions to Angola’s efforts to save people’s lives, and setting an example for international cooperation against the pandemic.

Angola appreciates China’s positive role in addressing the shortage of vaccines in Africa, and hopes to receive greater support from China in joint vaccine production and transfer of the International Monetary Fund’s Special Drawing Rights, Tete António said.

Wang said that China supports Chinese enterprises in actively exploring cooperation on vaccine production to help Angola overcome the pandemic at an early date, and is ready to provide assistance for Angola’s post-pandemic economic development.
