Macau and Zhuhai have great potential for cooperation in the tourism and healthcare industries, including the production of cosmetics, the president of Taiwanese group Foxconn said to Macau’s chief executive Chui Sai On, according to Macauhub.

Terry Cou, president and founder of the group that employs over 1 million people in various countries around the world, visited Macau and Hengqin Island in Zhuhai on Monday, and discussed aspects of economic development and diversification of the two regions with Chui Sai On.

Cou said he believes the development of the exhibition and convention industries will also help Macau’s economic diversification.

Chui Sai On noted that the development registered in the Chinese Traditional Medicine Scientific and Industrial Park on the island of Hengqing makes it possible to study ways of cooperation with the group’s Healthcare division.

Chui Sai On also gave assurances that all those who come to Macau looking for business opportunities will be well received.

The Foxconn Group, which has factories in Taiwan, China, Brazil, Europe, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea and the United States, produces a variety of electronic equipment and is known for manufacturing Apple products.

Hengqing is an economic development zone in the Zhuhai Municipality of Guangdong, adjacent to Macau, with new development areas in the entertainment and light industry sectors.
