Inês Chan Lou confirmed as director of GCS from July 1

Inês Chan Lou holds two degrees, one in engineering and another in the sciences. She also has a masters degree in Public Administration specialising in international relations.

Inês Chan Lou was appointed director of the Government Information Bureau (GCS) by Macao Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng today.

The nomination for the period of one year from July 1 was published today in the Official Gazette of Macao.

Inês Chan joined the Civil Service in 1990 and currently supervises the Licensing and Inspection Department of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

According to the Official Gazette, Inês Chan holds two degrees, one in engineering and another in the sciences.

She also has a masters degree in Public Administration specialising in international relations, a course co-organised by the University of Macau and the National Institute of Administration of Portugal.

Throughout 2020, she participated in more than 100 press conferences at the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre as the representative of MGTO.

Inês Chan will substitute Victor Chan Chi Ping, who himself was appointed today to serve as an advisor to the Office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance until 19th December 2020.

Victor Chan has been GCS’s director since 2000 and previously worked at Teledifusão de Macau (TDM).
