Brussels, Belgium, 12 Jan – Macau’s Chief Executive, Chui Sai On, met Tuesday with the President of the European Commission (EU) , Durão Barroso, at the Headquarter of the EU and both agreed to step up co-operation in a wide range of areas.
Chui told the press after the meeting that both sides had reviewed the work and achievements of co-operation in the past, and they had also agreed to enhance co-operation in future business activity, higher education, culture and creative industry and environmental protection.
According to the Government Information Bureau (GCS) after the meeting Barroso praised the economic development of Macau.
“The Macau Government had spared no effort in boosting the diversification of Macau’s economy and EU is willing to work with the government to jointly promote this work” said Barroso quoted by GCS.
During the visit to Brussels Chui met with top officials of the Belgium government.( MacauNews/Politics)
