Adoption Tails: Meet the animals up for adoption in Macao this June
Spread throughout the different local animal shelters are pets waiting for their furever homes. No matter their background, they all deserve loving families to go to. Let’s encourage Macao to adopt, not shop!

Every other Wednesday, we have been posting adorable animals who are up for adoption in Macao. Some of the animals have already found their forever homes, but many are still looking!
If you are considering bringing a new family member into the safety and warmth of your home this holiday season, here are a few cats and dogs who are ready for adoption.
Mama Kun, Kun-star, Kun-moon, Kun-sea 觀媽/ 觀星/ 觀月/ 觀海
A family of six cats were found on 19 May inside Kun Iam Temple, one adult female cat and five kittens. Sadly, two of the kitten did not survive but the others were taken in by Abandoned Animals Protect Association of Macau (AAPAM). All four of them – Mama Kun, Kun-star, Kun-moon, Kun-sea – are now settling in quite nicely, and waiting for their new furever, cat-proof homes!

Cube
Cube was picked up by a passerby near the Venetian, where she was covered in dirt. Appearing friendly yet lonely, Anima decided to take her in and find her a worthy home, and she has been with them since 23 May. At Anima’s Cat Paradise, she’s been found to be healthy and extremely friendly with people, never shy about asking for pets. A cat-proof home is preferred for this super-cuddly and loving companion, could that be you?

Tai B 大B
Poor Tai B was rescued in October 2019, after he was hit by a truck in Coloane and had his right hind leg fractured. After a month of recovery at the veterinary hospital, he’s been staying at Anima’s Dog Shelter ever since. This gentle giant has the sweetest eyes and a shy, good-natured personality, but some people might be put off by his size. Help this very good boy out by fostering or adopting him in your home today!

Kinki
After being injured along Largo da Ponte de Coloane, Kinki was rescued by Anima on 31 July. Anima immediately sent her to the clinic where a veterinarian treated the puppy’s fractured pelvis. She is now fully recovered, awaiting a family who will adore her easy-going and fun-loving nature!
Personality: Gentle and easygoing; playful and enjoys cuddles

Lucky
The Macau Association for Stray Dogs and Animal Welfare (MASDAW) discovered Lucky in 2015 on a development site in Cotai, where the dog and her family had been living. Though shy at first around humans, five-year-old Lucky loves taking long walks, has a sweet personality and adorable mannerisms, like the way she tilts her head to one side when you call her name.

Root
Root was first found when he was just three months old. Tiny and sick, he had been wandering around Rua de Seng Tou before being rescued. He found a wonderful home for the next four years, but his family left Macao in June and couldn’t bring Root along. Now staying with Anima, this affectionate boy hopes to find a friendly human or two who enjoy cuddling as much as he does.

Kennis and Kassie
Kennis and his sister Kassie were adopted from Anima about 3.5 years ago, when they were still puppies. But their adopter recently had to return the dogs to the shelter because the landlord no longer allowed pets. These affectionate siblings are quite the pair – they have a great bond, are well-trained and love to make new friends. Both are in need of a new home, ideally somewhere they can stay together.
