The number of non-resident workers in Macao fell by 3,800 in August, cutting the total to 154,000, of which 106,300 are from mainland China.

Around 2,100 of those who left returned to mainland China, while 500 headed back to Vietnam, the Public Security Police reported.

The hotel and restaurant sector was the worst hit, losing 1,100 workers, TDM reported.
