Travellers leaving Macao by air or sea must present proof of a negative Covid-19 nucleic acid test within 48 hours. Anyone failing to do so will be denied boarding, the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre has warned.
The new regulation was introduced in response to the pandemic situation, and came into effect at noon on 19 October.
Violators may be subject to compulsory isolation measures in addition to the corresponding criminal liability in accordance with the law.
Starting 12 pm yesterday, authorities in Zhuhai and Macao have agreed that travellers crossing the borders from Macao must hold a certificate of negative nucleic acid test (NAT) results within 48 hours.
