Starting tomorrow, all individuals (except children under 3 years old) will be required to partake in three more citywide nucleic acid tests (NATs). Given the high chances of positive Covid-19 results found through testing ‘pooled-batches’, the Novel Coronavirus Infection Response and Coordination Centre has arranged for 30 mobile sampling teams to re-test preliminary positive Covid-19 cases across all of Macao. Each team will consists of a driver, a police officer from the Public Security Police Force and a Covid-19 sampler.

Preliminarily positive mixed samples will be contacted by the Health Bureau and will be asked to stay home and wait for the mobile sampling teams.

In previous mass testing rounds, when ‘mixed samples’ were found to be Covid-19 positive, all 10 people within the pooled sample would be picked up at their homes and sent to treatment centres to be re-tested for Covid-19.
